Position Overview :

As the Automation Engineering Manager, you'll head up a team of automation engineers, direct technical efforts, and partner with our Customer Experience team to ensure top-notch delivery and support for our customers' bots.

With a strong technical background and a track record of leading and scaling teams, you'll be the driving force behind our engineering operations, budgeting, staffing, and support.

This is a key role within the organization, leading the automation engineering team, managing the group's day-to-day activities, reporting and managing team KPIs, and maintaining support level agreements across all our customers�?? bots.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in engineering and a proven track record of leading and scaling global engineering teams.

You�??ll define and lead technical implementation, code reviews, escalation to resolve issues that arise during build and support, and hands-on engineering to unblock your teams when needed.

Responsibilities :

  • Providing leadership and guidance to automation engineering team members
  • Own the deployment, implementation, and support of automations to meet our customers�?? needs while working with our Customer Experience team to deliver excellence
  • Resolving technical and code-level obstacles in advance and as they arise- Expertise in tools used for software development : Python, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), containerized workloads, CI / CD, automated version control systems, software artifacts management tools, code quality, engineering standards, logging, and metrics
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest automation / RPA technologies and how they can be used / deployed within the automation engineering organization
  • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with Customer Experience to recommend solutions and how to improve them
  • Continually researching the current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed
  • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have
  • Lead and coordinate response to escalations. Lead incident and root-cause analysis with calm and an eye toward service improvement

Requirements :

  • 6+ years of technical engineering, including a proven track record of successfully managing and scaling technical teams
  • Extensive automation engineering experience with design, delivery, and operational excellence with custom technical solutions
  • Ruthless prioritization amongst competing priorities, operational excellence of our bots, and driving radical change within our organization
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and determination to do whatever it takes to achieve your mission
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a talent for the precise articulation of hypotheses and outcomes
  • Bachelor�??s Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline required, or eight years of equivalent work experience

Bonus Points :

  • You have open-source / Python-based automation experience at a hyper-growth SaaS company
  • Experience with automation, RPA, OCR, IaaS, PaaS, DevOps, and product engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the organization; strong technical and leadership skills; experience building and fostering strong working relationships
  • Experience influencing without direct authority at senior levels of internal and external organizations; strong people and negotiation skills
